About the Senior Hardware Systems Engineering position Our Senior Hardware Systems Engineers are key members of Avidyne's Hardware Engineering team, a multidisciplinary, tight-knit group of engineers and technicians who develop, certify, and support our next generation of airborne sensors, displays, and flight management systems.

The Senior Hardware Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for defining and capturing hardware system features, functions, and interfaces as well as guiding our avionics projects through their developmental and certification processes. Routine tasks include writing hardware specifications, requirements, and test procedures and ensuring our products satisfy

customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Secondary responsibilities include mentoring interns and co-op students, coordinating design reviews, and interfacing with customers, FAA certification authorities and other key stakeholders.

Our Senior Hardware Systems Engineer's responsibilities include: Converting knowledge of various technical standards into system requirements and test plans Lead the definition and capture of certification and compliance requirements Lead the development effort through all phases of a formal software and hardware development lifecycle via Avidyne's internal processes, DO-178B, and DO-254 as required Participating in design reviews leading to well-developed

test plans and procedures Performing verification tests, and authoring and releasing verification reports Ensuring Avidyne's products satisfy customer, regulatory, and internal requirements Completing System Safety backssments (SSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Predictions per FAA guidance and industry or military standards Tracing System Requirements to Hardware Component requirements as well as Verification Test Cases back to their respective requirements to ensure complete system verification Managing System Engineering and Verification Document Tree Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, FAA certification authorities, and other invested parties as required.

Qualifications: Ability and willingness to mentor others and work effectively in a team-oriented environment Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication (including technical documentation) Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently as well as within a team environment Ability to handle multiple priorities, moving deadlines, evolving requirements, and changing focus Ability to successfully identify and resolve complex problems Knowledge of systems and test engineering principles Knowledge of requirements development and management Knowledge and demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite of products.

Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree in Systems, Computer, Aerospace, Math, Physics, or another Engineering discipline At least 5 years industry experience with systems engineering, requirements development, requirements management, and related tools (e. g. DOORS), or a Master's degree in a related field of study plus 3 years of similar industry experience. Design, develop, and implement a new Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse, ensuring it meets the project requirements and aligns with the overall data strategy of the Department (the Department is under a " cloud first" initiative, and the new data warehouse is preferred to reside in the Azure cloud).

Develop and maintain ETL processes to migrate data from the new State's accounting system, Florida PALM to the new SQL Server data warehouse. Implement data modeling and design techniques to build scalable and efficient data structures to meet the Department's accounting and budgeting reporting

needs. Design and create data dashboards, visualizations, and reports using Power BI, providing critical insights to stakeholders. Troubleshoot any issues that arise in the data warehouse and implement solutions.

Collaborate with other team members, stakeholders, and data users to ensure the new data warehouse meets the needs of the Department. Continuously monitor, refine, and report on the performance and capacity of the data warehouse. Configure and administer data warehouse security settings, working closely with the Information Security team to ensure the best practices are in place. Stay up to date on new data warehousing technologies and approaches. Train and mentor less

experienced team members. Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure smooth data warehouse operations.

Handle incident management and problem resolution for data warehouse issues. Develop data mining models to identify trends and patterns within large datasets. Ensure that data is accurate and clean, using statistical methods such as data profiling and data quality analysis to identify potential problems with data quality before using it in reports or analyses. Develop and thoroughly documenting the processes and procedures for the warehouse's day-to-day operations, including creating backup plans for disaster recovery in case of equipment failure or data loss.

Design and implementing data warehouse solutions that meet the Department's needs while ensuring compliance with industry regulations regarding the security of sensitive data. Work collaboratively with stakeholder teams to compile audience profiles, insights, and measurement plans. Create simple, easy-to-follow reports and dashboards that key department heads will utilize on a regular basis to make informed business decisions. Work with multiple Project Managers to deliver capabilities/projects/data sets/reports that have been prioritized by the Business Product Owners. Work with the Manager of the Department's Research & Data Team and other stakeholders to accurately integrate collected data into the data warehouse, using descriptive analytics to research and perform statistical analysis to identify actionable insights.

Ensure that reporting and key institutional metrics are regularly updated, available, and accurate. Provide expertise to the Data Governance team. Create ad-hoc reports as needed. Stay current of technology and best practices. Regularly attend training and proactively conducts research when available. Oversee the work of several other individuals and must be able to motivate team members, delegate tasks, perform knowledge transfers, and mentor staff.

Must be able to handle all duties and information in a confidential manner. Must have the ability to simplify information systems and make sound business decisions. Required Experience: Seven (7) or more years of experience in a BI, Data Engineer, or ETL role. Proven experience working with SQL databases and Microsoft SQL Server. Proven track record of successful data warehouse implementations. Proven experience in data warehouse design and development. Proven experience in ETL tools, processes, and in data migration projects.

Proficient understanding of data warehousing methodologies. Proven proficiency with Microsoft Power BI for creating dashboards and reports.
