The Center is interaction-positive and provides advocacy and critical health and social support services to support our community members through all stages of life, focusing on our deeply held values of equity, social justice, and client-centered, trauma-informed care. The Center currently has over 110 staff working at five facilities

across San Diego County. As of 04/01/2023, the Center has relaxed its COVID-19 vaccination requirement for employment. New employees are encouraged but not required to be vaccinated.

POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Director of Grants, the Grant Writer's primary responsibilities include developing, editing, and writing grant proposals for foundations, corporations, and government entities to meet the financial and operational needs of the organization.

This position will be part of a dynamic, highly collaborative new grant writing team at The Center.

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: In collaboration with the Director of Grants, research funding opportunities that align with the short-term and long-term funding needs and strategic planning goals of the agency. In collaboration with the Director of Grants and the Grant Writer, conduct the full range of activities required to write, submit, and manage grant proposals to federal, state, local, and private foundation funding sources.

Submit 3-5 grants per month, depending on the size and scope of the funding opportunity Stay current with relevant statistics and best practices for service delivery Utilize centralized grants calendar and database for applications, reports, and awards or denials Prepare, compile, and coordinate the submission of all the components of grant reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual reports and grant budgets that align with funding objectives. Ensure that all documents are submitted ahead of deadlines. Required Qualifications: Education/Experience : 2 years of experience in progressive grant writing and/or grant management responsibility in a non-profit organization ranging from $10,000 to $2,000,000 Professional Skills : Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, regional, and local agencies, community leaders, and public stakeholders.

Demonstrated success in developing corporate and private foundation grant proposals that have been awarded in excess of $100,000. Experience with financial and program management database systems, including Raiser's Edge, Apricot, Grant Hub, and similar systems. Personal Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong planning and organizational skills. Detail-oriented and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, ability to work in a team environment. Technology Skills : Proficient in MS Office Suite. Language Skills : Fluency in English. preferred QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience : 1+ years of experience Fundraising in a professional, philanthropic environment. Professional Skills : Familiarity with the San Diego funding landscape.

Other Qualifications : Passion for the Center's mission and work to create a region where LGBTQ people thrive. Demonstrate competency, humility, and experience working with the LGBTQ and BIPOC communities and familiarity with issues relevant to LGBTQ and BIPOC people. Language Skills : Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Compensation : The pay range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000 and is commensurate with experience. PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop Strategic Partnerships with other youth-serving organizations within Muslim and ally communities, including Islamic Centers, MSAs, Muslim nonprofits, schools, other faith communities, and communities of color. Create an Engaging Curriculum for New Youth Programs that nurture a strong Muslim identity, promote civic engagement and leadership development, and promote social justice. Organize Youth Programs for New Afghan Arrivals. Lead the development and management of CAIR-LA's new youth programs for newly arrived Afghan youth and families; this includes backssing the needs of local youth and families; developing program objectives and curriculum; identifying and recruiting partners, hosts, and facilitators; and reporting on grant deliverables.

Coordinate Youth Programs Across Region, including but not limited to: Muslim Gamechangers Network is a multi-week program for Muslim high school students centered on identity, community history, social responsibility, and community organizing. Anti-School Bullying Campaign, including distribution strategy of school bullying surveys to Muslim youth and educational workshops for youth, parents, educators, and school administrators.

Muslim Youth Leadership Program, a CAIR-CA leadership training intensive at the state capitol to teach Muslim high school students about the legislative process and other key skills for impacting change in their communities. Facilitate and Recruit Facilitators for ongoing youth programs, workshops, and forums. Recruit and Manage Volunteers/Interns to assist CAIR-SD departments in day-to-day work and key projects. This will involve online and in-person marketing, vetting and placing candidates, managing the intern/volunteer database, institutionalizing orientation and training, and nurturing motivational learning and interning/volunteering experience.

Lead Recruitment of Program Participants for CAIR-SD youth and general programs and campaigns. Lead Youth Organizing Campaign s around their interests, including but not limited to school bullying, cultural sensitivity and anti-racism training at schools, campus climate, and other racial/economic justice issues. QUALIFICATIONS    1-2 years experience in a nonprofit or similar experience Dari, Pashtu, and Farsi language skills (preferred) Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent experience preferred Ideal candidates possess experience working with youth and/or community organizing  Previous experience working in multicultural/multiracial organizing and social justice spaces  Previous engagement with the American Muslim community and its issues  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Position Summary: Position Summary: CAIR-SD is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Community Organizer. This position will work to build a network of organizations and leaders to take action on local issues of community concern in San Diego County. RESPONSIBILITIES: Community Organizing Duties: Duties will be centered on building out a network of organizations and leaders to take action on local issues of community concern.

Relationship building: Set up and conduct relational meetings with Muslim community leaders and other important stakeholders. Recruitment and development: Identify and develop community leaders, partners, and members to strengthen the Muslim community's grassroots power. Political Education: Educate grassroots leaders and members on power-building, legislative and electoral policy, campaign development and evaluation, and other tools needed for a successful issue campaign. Lead Direct Actions: Utilize pledge cards, surveys, action alerts, and other tools to further campaign goals.

This includes turning out large numbers to galvanize public officials and other escalation tactics. Inter-department collaboration to develop issue campaigns: Work closely with the other teams to create base-building and political organizing strategies to reach political/policy outcomes in specific issues (i. e. immigration, economic, social, and racial justice policies). Develop and advance advocacy partnerships: Develop strategic partnerships with allies, coalition partners, and funders to advance political priorities.

Represent CAIR-SD in coalition meetings and work collaboratively on joint efforts with community organizations and coalition partners. Manage reporting on grant deliverables and ensure accountability. This includes helping write memos and reports based on the program work. Outreach duties: CAIR-SD community organizers are ambassadors of our programs and services to the broader community within their assigned geographic region. Community outreach & education: Work with CAIR-SD's various departments to coordinate and publicize workshops, teach-ins, and trainings that will empower the Muslim community.

These include, but are not limited to, Know Your Rights presentations on various legal rights, policy training, immigration services, etc. Develop and strengthen relationships with volunteers: Identify and recruit potential volunteers for CAIR-SD's various departments, programs, and services. Match volunteers and interns with CAIR-SD's work based on their interests and maintain relationships within your region. Friday and event outreach: Attend Friday prayers and other weekend or community events in and beyond your assigned geographic region and mobilize congregants around ongoing campaigns, services, and initiatives (past examples include GOTV, census mobilization, calls to action, etc.

orientation to onboarding volunteer staff, maintaining HWAC's Salesforce database and assisting in recognition efforts for Volunteers.
