Software Engineer to join our New Site Configuration team within our Core System Software organization. Your job will be to produce configuration packages to allow our warehouse automation software to run at new customer sites. You will also be expected to produce tools and procedures which expedite the creation of configuration packages for new sites and customers.
This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of engineering teams within our organization as you work together to get new sites running our software. What we do The New Site Configuration team works with many groups across the organization to pull all the pieces together required to run our software which drives our
warehouse automation system. The team is responsible for creating configuration packages compatible with multiple versions of our software for new customers, new warehouses of existing customers, or existing automated warehouses that are expanding in size.
The team works closely with other development teams to understand their configuration and verify the necessary changes have been made. The New Site Configuration team is responsible for process improvements and automation to expedite the creating of site configuration packages. What you'll do Responsible for setting up the configuration of robotic warehouses. Design creative solutions for the complex problems that arise from the configuring
automation software. Automate existing manual processes and design solutions to reduce turnaround time of configuring a new site.
Work closely with members of various software teams to understand how their components need to be configured. Be a proactive communicator who enjoys working closely with creative and technical peers. Work in a dynamic Agile/Scrum based environment. Travel up to 10% to customer sites What you'll need Bachelor's degree in an engineering related discipline required. (i. e. Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, etc. ). 2+ years of experience developing software applications. The qualified candidate must have experience with Object Oriented Design.
Experience writing managed code and knowledge of garbage collection is a plus. Hands on experience with Python and/or Regex Experience with source control software (Git preferred) Experience with MS SQL and the SQL language is a plus A hands-on problem solver with excellent software design and implementation skills. What You Will Do: Work closely with the project manager and construction field safety team to understand project milestones, delivery schedule, and commissioning plans. Attend owner/architect/contractor meetings. Perform witness testing of select fire/life safety systems. Work with construction site
personnel and the Project Manager to help ensure that the project’s Construction Fire Prevention Program is relevant (given changing site conditions) and is being followed.
Assist with the scheduling and sequencing of our project scope of services and maintaining the project schedule and budget. Provide onsite field presence as required. Manage project related documents and field tasks including field reports, photos, drawings, and meeting minutes. Interact with all project participants including internal staff, owners, OPMs architects/engineers, contractors, and subcontractors in connection with project services and field issues. What You Will Need: Bachelor's degree in construction
management, engineering, safety or a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
3+ years of prior experience in either construction management, commissioning, site inspections, code enforcement, or engineering. A basic understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Alarm and/or Fire Protection Systems. Excellent attention to detail and follow-through Good organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills. Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven situations. Previous construction site survey and/or project experience with a specialization in fire and life safety systems is preferred.
Some knowledge of relevant fire and life safety codes and regulations preferred. Knowledge of construction methodologies and building codes a plus. OSHA 10/30 certifications preferred. Working knowledge of Auto CAD LT, and/or Revit preferred. Ability to travel to project/client sites. Work Environment: Professional office, field/project sites and remote office work.
