Position Summary This position is for an Senior Engineer for the mechanical hardness group who will prepare and execute a robust analytical approach to designing new structures and evaluating existing structures with new retrofits to survive various levels of extreme blast events. Additionally, this position will have a vital role in the development and execution of a physical model testing program which will serve as a key part of a Verification and Validation Program to demonstrate the analytical approach and design is credible.

Perform nonlinear, dynamic analysis of building structures using single degree of freedom, multi degree of freedom, and finite element analysis methodologies for dynamic blast loadings. Perform nonlinear, dynamic analyses of building structures using ABAQUS and other commercially available software. Transfer design information from calculations to structural design drawings/models. Draft reports and memorandums to communicate technical design information.
Coordinate requirements and design information with other client, customer, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. Review shop drawings, calculations, and RFIs related to design items during construction. Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution. Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team to ensure cohesiveness and quality.
