Flight Test Engineer to join our team. Job Description: Canvas, Inc. is seeking a Missile Flight Test Engineer. In this role, you will assist with missile flight test resources planning, flight test instrumentation architecture development, and flight test execution for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
The selected candidate should have missile flight test experience, a general understanding of telemetry, radar, and optical instrumentation, and familiarity with MDA test ranges (RTS, PMRF, VAFB, WSMR, etc. ). Additionally, a working knowledge of long-haul terrestrial and SATCOM communications, telemetry link margin analysis, Universal Documentation System (UDS), and cyber security a plus.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. The current weekly team schedule requires three days per week in-office and two days per week of telework. This position requires some travel (typically 10 to 20 percent); some trips may be up to a month long.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Perform engineering backssments to determine the capabilities and readiness of instrumentation, launch and test support equipment, test ranges, ground and flight test safety systems, and test countdown documentation.
