As a Senior Test Engineer on the Ample team, you will help solve complex challenges involving electric vehicles, robotics and smart battery technology.
You will act as Ample’s in-house expert on test methods, instrumentation, data collection and analysis. Requirements: ● BS in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Automotive Engineering or related field ● Min. 5 years experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) testing and development ● Hardware: Experience with high power, high voltage battery pack test setups (Aerovironment, AVL, Arbin, Maccor) ● Software: Matlab/Simulink, Python, data analysis scripting ● Proven exp. with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) ● Hands on design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) & a track record of solving difficult engineering
challenges in a fast-paced startup environment ● Knowledge of EV industry test protocols (UN38.3, ECE R100, USABC, SAE 2929, FMVSS) Responsibilities: ● Act as in-house expert on test methods, instrumentation, data collection and data analysis in electric vehicle battery packs and power electronics ● backss and define standard test protocols ● Troubleshoot various systems using electrical measurement equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes and multimeters ● Define accelerated test methods for battery packs and power electronics ● Work with design engineers in electrical, mechanical and software engineering to identify design issues and needed improvements ● Specify / maintain new test equipment; conduct setup and calibration ● Collect and analyze data using numerical data analysis tools ● Create test reports and communicate test results to the rest of the engineering organization Bonus: ● Experience with battery safety / abuse testing including: nail penetration, fire resistance, immersion (per GB 38031) ● Experience with Functional Safety requirements (per ISO 26262) ● Experience with EMI / EMC testing (per ECE R10) Ample is an equal opportunity employer and supports diversity!

The logic will be deployed on both PCI cards and hybrid CPU and FPGA systems, meaning that the designs must support both a classical PCI interface (MMIO and DMA) as well as modern cache-coherent interfaces with atomic operations. verification using randomized testing • Understanding of OSI network stack layers 2-7 • Experience performing latency optimizations • Proficiency in writing documentation • Experience with scripting in Python, Perl, bash, and/or TCL.
